USE OF HIGHLIGHTING STRATEGIES IN READING COMPREHENSION AND EFFECTS ON ATTAINMENT IN SELECTED READING SKILLS

This study had two specific research objectives, questions and four hypotheses. The used quasi-experimental designs. Data were collected using a standardized test. population of English Language students from secondary schools. purposive sampling technique was used. sample consisted 40 students. reliability the instruments established Cronbach Alpha, which yielded coefficient .70. analyzed Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 24.00). Findings revealed that reading comprehension performances taught skimming scanning in highlighting strategies significantly higher than those who not strategies.
